Very helpful. Thank you 😊
where do you get replacement blades from? only thing keeping me from not buying it right now
I've been using this method instinctively.. whenever I had to repair a ripped seam. I did not know it had a name :)
What is the main purpose of flatlock really? Its like and edging but its just flat?
It is a stretchy seam that keeps the fabric flat instead of creating a seam allowance that flaps around.
Hello … Which silk is best to use for hair scarf? Thanks for sharing
High end scarves are usually silk charmeuse
Thank you
Uhm, i used this for the finishing on a scrunchie, and i pricked myself for alot of 58 times, but it turned out great!!
I'm a beginner. I learn how to sew only from your tutorials. So blessed💙
Your tutorials are always easy to follow!💙💙💙 I learn sewing only from your videos💙
Thank you so much for this. I spent all day yesterday drafting a knit bodice block using a different video, and the shoulder width/arm scye and neck circumference all came out unusually. I had just about given up and was going to trace a t-shirt I own, but then you released this video! I can't wait to try your method today :)
Wow, that's a lot of work. Makes me really appreciate the price of store-bought sewing patterns. Nice job! Very informative.
Thank you Melly
Thanks for watching!
for simplicity, you can sew the loop on without that type of caribiner clip then put it on later, so it doesn't get in the way of your presser foot. With some other types, you could attach with a split ring, which could be placed later as well.
Yes, you could
My Mom taught me to always have my take up lever up before stopping but she didnt tell me why. I was unaware you could even accidentally unthread your needle! That must be so frustrating for people who don't know!
Yes!
this will go great with your made to measure leggins. thank you
Thanks for watching!
How clever--thank you for this very handy and helpful tutorial!
Thanks for watching!
Great info !!
Glad you think so!
Good job laying it all out. Thanks for the info! 🌹
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent
Thanks
This is SOOO much simpler than what the other tutorials do
Hope it's helpful!
How wide did you cut the strip for your neckband? It looked to be about 2” wide, which with a 1/2” seam allowance, would leave a 1” band.
This one has a pattern piece, so I don't remember the measurements. A 2 inch wide piece folded in half is 1 inch, then take the 1/2 seam allowance off of that and you'd have 1/2 inch finished width.
That is wonderful. I've never seen that method before. Easy and looks like it gives foolproof results.
It works well for me
How do you put in measurements?
With my keyboard
This is exactly how I wanted to sew the pockets on my sweatpants project, thank you for explaining it so clearly!!
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent video tutorial. Clear and concise and easy enough for me to understand as a beginner. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
wow, epic detail! new fan <3
Welcome!
Which is longest needle in length? I am trying to sew foam of 2.5 inch thickness, I dont need too much thickness but i want length What shall i buy
Home sewing machines aren't designed to have different needle lengths. All these needles are the same length. If you try to put a longer needle on your machine than it's designed for you'll ruin the timing on your machine.
If the average cost of a serger is $300 (which is more than i paid for my 20 year old sewing machine) i'm out of my depth. If i were a professional seamstress i'd maybe take the plunge. It is nice, however, to finally understand the purpose of a serger. Thanks for your enlightening video. It's back to the zigzag feature on my sewing machine for me!
Nothing wrong with using your zig zag - I only had 1 machine for many, many years of sewing.
Thank you! I need to make a 3 tier peasant dress for a friend. I haven’t seen for a while and wasn’t sure where to start. You are always my starting point for something I haven’t done before. I get so much inspiration from your content!
Aw, thanks!
love your videos!
Thank you!!
Excellent demo! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks!
My zipper was gaping open and the fabric wasn't staying together. I tried to figure out why so I came to UA-cam. Turns out I sewed it with the zipper facing up instead of down, which may have contributed to the fabric pulling oddly as I sewed. This is my first time putting in a zipper using proper methods and a zipper foot, so it's like learning to ride a bike all over again, haha
Glad you figured it out
You could also slow hand stitch the outside for a great clean look. 🇨🇦
Yup
how did the bottom half of the dress take the extra seam allowance. Would you release the side seams??
If you have side seams, yes. This was a circle skirt so there wasn't a side seam, I just had to trim a bit to make the circle around the waist larger.
I was looking for a tutorial, and yours was at the top of the list, and I got really excited. Because I know you're awesome.
Awesome! Thank you!
So professional..Absolutely brilliant.
Thanks!
Thanks for your awesome videos. I learnt to sew from this channel. So thanks a lot for that.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching!
The pins are so smart!! Thank you.
Glad it's helpful!
I loved Home Economics class! I graduated in 1980 from a small rural school in Minnesota - sewing classes for the gals and Workshop for the guys. We also had a year we had the guys learn to sew simple project and the girls worked in the woodworking shop. It was INFORMATIVE and so much fun! Today I have sewn my own clothing, costumes for ballet and clogging teams and now wedding design. I have also branched out into landscape art quilting designs (ie: small works of art for wall hangings - I don't care for quilting large blankets - I do raw edge applique and thread painting) Schools should keep these classes as elective courses that allow students to learn these skills! They are so useful in lifelong applications! Thank you for your excellent videos! I'm still learning and applying technique after 50 years of sewing - and I love it!
Thanks for watching!
What weight is the quilt backing? Thank you!
Not sure, it was a scrap of whatever I had on hand.
Thank you! Excited to try this with the measuring tape closure.
Have fun!
I wish you had shown threading the bobbin….
The bobbin isn't threaded any differently than when I use regular thread.
This was so helpful, right to the point, thank you. Saved me hours and lots of energy. 🩷
I kind of hate that the answer to most of my sewing issues always comes back to "don't be lazy and use your iron" 😂 Thanks for the demo!
Lol! "Take your time and do all the steps" was my sewing nemesis for years 🤣
Oh so that's how it's done
Yup
I’m from Australia. Can I print the pattern on A4 paper?? Tried the pattern and it doesn’t fit me.
It should print on either US Letter or A4 size paper. You can adjust size by adding more or less elastic.
perfect. thanks for your training
Thanks for watching!
You willdo gor me order
Thank you 1 million times!
Thanks for watching!
How do we get the binding on the outside if the shorts haven't been sewed together yet???
I don't understand your question. Did you watch the whole video?
You did nor show how too attach the Bias Tape for this project.
@@smiller1132 that's correct, I linked videos I've made on how to sew bias tape instead.
